What can the seasonal rhythms of plants and animals reveal about the health of our planet—and our own well-being?

Join Theresa Crimmins, Director of the USA National Phenology Network and Associate Professor at the University of Arizona, for an inspiring presentation based on her new book, Phenology (MIT Press, 2025).

With warmth and scientific clarity, Crimmins introduces audiences to the fascinating science of life-cycle timing in nature—from leaf-out and flowering to bird migration and insect emergence. She demonstrates how paying attention to these seasonal patterns deepens our sense of place, strengthens climate research, and supports personal well-being.

In this talk, Crimmins invites us all to become “everyday phenologists” and take part in a joyful and urgent practice that benefits both mental health and environmental stewardship.
