It’s passionate, caring individuals and companies that make it possible to encourage and support more families to explore the outdoors, improve well-being and learn about our wild spaces and how to best care for it all!

Mission

To encourage continuous outdoor experiences that enrich the lives of children and bring forth a new generation of responsible outdoor enthusiasts and stewards ensuring access to nature for future generations.

Be Outdoors Arizona, a collaboration of nonprofit organizations that support youth, conservation and outdoor recreation. Where we work collectively as a network to encourage nature centered outdoor experiences that enrich lives and empower people to influence positive outcomes in their communities

FAMILIES refer to BOAZ for fun, experiential educational outdoor activities for their children. Because most do not know where or what recreation is available for free or low cost .

NONPROFITS rely on BOAZ for exposure and marketing to increase their membership, volunteers, donors and participants in their events. Because most are run by volunteers who may have passion for the organization but lack skills when it comes to growing the organization.

BUSINESSES invest in BOAZ marketing to increase sales through highly targeted marketing, social selling and by supporting a cause. Because many do not know what is important to their clientele

Goals and Objectives:

To be Arizona’s premiere resource for outdoor experiences and education by bringing all providers of activities related to nature learning, play and service into a central calendar. And to provide all resources needed to cultivate lifelong interest, hobbies and advocacy for proper stewardship of Arizona’s outdoor places.

To provide promotion of the nonprofits, clubs, and businesses that serve the outdoor recreation and conservation industries, increasing their membership, volunteers, donations and sales.

Be Outdoors Arizona realizes that there is a disconnect between people and nature, especially among kids who are suffering from anxiety, depression, bullying and low esteem as a result of the addictive nature of social media plus the pandemic and other current day issues that did not exist 10 to 20 years ago. In addition to this disconnect, the majority of parents in the state did not grow up in Arizona (80% over the age 25 are transplants from another state) and are unsure of where, how, and what is available in outdoor recreation in Arizona.

The recent pandemic did result in more families exploring the outdoors, however since many were new to outdoor recreation and were unaware of outdoor recreation etiquette and laws much damage was caused by the use of closed areas and roads and massive amounts of trash.

The outdoor recreation industry is growing as the public interest in healthy lifestyles and their search for meaningful purpose in life is increasing; and the interest in the environment with the concern over climate change and drought ensures future growth for the services of Be Outdoors Arizona.
