Join us for the Tumamoc Hill Youth Program!
This free monthly program invites youth and families to explore the natural and cultural history of the Sonoran Desert through hands-on learning, creativity, and fun. Each month features a new theme, guest speaker, and art activity, making every session a fresh experience.
🌵 Theme: Ethnobotany of the Southwest
Learn how plants have been used for food, medicine, and daily life by Indigenous and local cultures for generations. Youth will enjoy a short, engaging science presentation by Alex La Pierre (Borderlandia), followed by a creative art activity—play clay printmaking with local artist Aubrey Behrens. This interactive program blends science and art to spark curiosity and appreciation for desert plants.
🧒👧 This program is designed to be kid-friendly and family-welcoming, making it a great opportunity for young learners to connect with nature and culture in an accessible way.
