Are you ready to experience the thrill of hunting with expert guidance? This camp is designed for youth ages 8–16 who want to learn how to hunt small game, quail, and rabbitsβ€”and for youth ages 11–17 who want a mentored waterfowl hunting experience.

Experience the thrill of hunting with expert guidance at this hands-on youth hunting camp! Designed for youth ages 8–16 interested in small game hunting (quail & rabbits) and youth ages 11–17 for mentored waterfowl hunting, this camp provides a safe, educational, and fun outdoor experience.

  • Mentored hunting instruction from experienced mentors

  • Hands-on learning in:
    β€’ Small game hunting (quail & rabbits)
    β€’ Waterfowl identification, calling, and shooting
    β€’ Using blinds, field dressing & game processing

GPS Coordinates: 33.0284, -113.4805
This site is near the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge / Martinez Lake area, northwest of Yuma, AZ. Centralized remote camping is available (rustic site, no electricity, water provided).

Directions from Yuma:

  1. Take US-95 North toward Martinez Lake (~25 miles).

  2. Turn right (east) onto Imperial Dam Road.

  3. Follow signs toward Martinez Lake / Imperial National Wildlife Refuge.

  4. Continue following event signs to camp.

⚠️ Registration Required:

  • Download and mail the registration paperwork with a refundable registration fee to secure your spot.

  • Registration opens October 1, 2025 at 5:15 PM CDT.


πŸŽ’ What to Bring – Youth Hunting Camp Checklist

Clothing & Personal Gear:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes/boots

  • Weather-appropriate layers (cool mornings & warm afternoons)

  • Hat & sunglasses

  • Rain jacket or windbreaker

  • Personal toiletries

Camping Gear:

  • Sleeping bag/bedding

  • Tent (if not provided)

  • Flashlight/headlamp + extra batteries

  • Camp chair (optional)

Hunting & Outdoor Essentials:

  • Hunting gear (appropriate firearm or bow, if applicable)

  • Hunting license/tag (if required)

  • Binoculars (optional)

  • Water bottle / hydration pack

  • Snacks (optional)

Other:

  • Personal medications or special items

  • Sunscreen & insect repellent

  • Notebook & pen (for learning and observations)
