Join Alamo Lake State Park for a Star Party, observing the wonders of the night sky through astronomers’ telescopes! With the nearest city lights being 40 miles away, Alamo Lake experiences minimal light pollution, offering some of the best conditions for stargazing.
Join the solar observations from noon to 4 p.m. in the group use areas. At 5 p.m., the night sky program will begin with a presentation, followed by night sky viewing through professional telescopes with astronomers at 6 p.m. After the sun goes down, your eyes will adjust to the darkness and you will be amazed by the planets, stars, and other heavenly objects that will be visible.
Enhance your experience and camp out under the stars in an RV or tent (additional fee applies).
The event is free, however, the park entrance fee ($10 per vehicle) applies.
