This organization helps protect and teach people all about birds! They host a variety of events such as local bird walks, field trips seminars, and community science projects. A must do is a visit to the Paton Center for hummingbirds! 252 bird species have been reported around this area in Patagonia. You can download a map of hotspots to find certain species of birds.
In August they hold an awesome biding festival. They have membership options, a shop with cool bird related gifts and you can even hire them for classroom lessons, invasive plant mapping and bird surveys and sustainable habitat planning for residential neighborhoods and a bunch of other wildlife and habitat enhancing projects. They also have live bird cams!
Be Outdoors Arizona is proud to have them as a partner, you can find their events on our calendar under ‘Birding’. They also have volunteering opportunities! Check out their website at TucsonAudubon.org
