Join us as we get outdoors and show some love to the Old Baldy Trail in Mount Wrightson Wilderness. Don’t worry if you’re new to trail work- no experience necessary. Just come ready to get your hands dirty and have a great time! Wild Arizona will provide the tools and guidance you need to have a successful experience.
Overview
This is a three day weekend event; however, trail maintenance will take place SUNDAY only. Please feel free to join us for the entire weekend or just the day! ALL ARE WELCOME!
- Saturday (optional): Camp at Bog Springs campground (31.72691, -110.87538) ; volunteers are responsible for providing their own meal for Friday evening.
- Sunday: At 9 a.m., we will carpool to the trail and distribute tools after safety meeting. Trail maintenance is along lower Old Baldy trail. We will finish our day at 3pm. Wild Arizona will provide a free meal Saturday night!
- Monday: We will break down camp and depart by noon.
Per our safety policy, a long-sleeve shirt, long pants, sunglasses/safety glasses, and closed toe shoes are mandatory to participate in volunteer work.
What to Bring
This is a self-supported trip.
- Personal camping gear: tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, messkit, headlamp, toiletries, and all the personal backpacking gear you need to be comfortable.
- Warm layers and a rain jacket are a must.
- Water bottles or hydration pack (3 liter per day capacity minimum for the work day)
- Personal food: breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Wild Arizona will provide dinner Saturday night.
