Maricopa County Parks (AZMNA-MC Chapter Sponsor) plans to hit the ground running in 2025, with nearly 60 Desert Defender Invasive Species Removal Events from January through early May at over seven parks.
This important work helps improve the park’s native biodiversity in two ways, by removing the invasive plants you are:
- Preventing wildfires, by removing the ground fuel that allows wildfire to move across the landscape.
- Improve native biodiversity by providing space for native plants to thrive.
Many of these events are led by members of our Maricopa Master Naturalists team!
Please join us! They are at several parks, so there is one near you. Also, if you attend four or more Desert Defender Events, you will receive a very cool Desert Defenders T-shirt!
