Master Naturalist and Desert Rivers member Kathleen McCoy is teaching an innovative new class that focuses on the birds you see at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve — one bird at a time.

Each single-session class will focus on one species that frequents the ponds, this will be the Egrets.

Kathleen will take her class on a deep dive with each bird starting with interesting facts and family friendly activities. The group will then explore the preserve on a guided walk. Beginners and experienced birders of all ages are welcome.

Bring binoculars if you have them, water and sunscreen. Dress for the weather
