The areas all along Cave Creek Wash are abundant in desert flora and fauna and steeped in history. P.A. Seitts Preserve at Go John Canyon is no exception. The preserve not only holds a sensitive riparian habitat, it is also rich in archaeology, mining, and ranching history. Join us as we explore this preserve in the heart of Cave Creek and discover the treasures that make it a special place in our community.
This 3-mile hike is relatively flat but will require a creek crossing. We recommend that you wear closed-toed shoes, sun protection, and bring drinking water. Hiking poles are not required but may be helpful if preferred. There are no facilities at the preserve, so plan ahead.
