Join Ranger Eric to look for and learn about resident and migratory birds of the Sonoran Desert on this easy 1-1.5 mile walk (roundtrip). Along the way, we will learn how to identify birds by sight and sound. We will also discuss citizen science, including the eBird app. Today is also part of the Great Backyard Bird Count sponsored by Cornell, which runs Feb. 16-19 this year (https://www.birdcount.org/). We will meet in front of the Nature Center and check out the nearby feeders, weed, and tree patches, before going over to the tree plantings around the turf area. Please dress in layers and carry ample water and snacks for yourself. Some binoculars are available to borrow from the Nature Center when they open at 8am, but feel free to bring your own binoculars or camera if you have them. The paths by the Nature Center are paved or gravel. Restrooms are located at the Nature Center.
