Meet at the south end of Chuckwalla Drive where it is best to carpool. There are no restrooms. Directions: Arrive there by following Fir St until it dead ends at Chuckwalla Drive. Turn left or south and park at a small turnout at the end of Chuckwalla. Expect to see wintering or desert birds: Cactus Wren, Gambel’s Quail, Curve-billed Thrasher, Canyon Towhee, Northern Cardinal, more. Walking is flat except for a possible uphill climb on a gravel road. Wear appropriate clothing for the weather. Bring binoculars, camera, water, and snacks.
