Ranger Nikki will lead you on a moderate to difficult hike to explore our beautiful desert and get in a great workout. The route is an out-and-back trek on a portion of Goat Camp Trail, out approximately two miles and turning back to make 4 miles total. The terrain is mostly uneven with rocky surfaces and the second mile includes small boulders to step up onto and scale. Hiking poles are recommended for the terrain. This hike is focused on exercise, but we will stop for breaks and talk about nearby plants and animals. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring snacks and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and South Trailhead along Black Canyon Drive.
MEETING LOCATION: Goat Camp Trailhead on Black Canyon Drive (Area 1).
