Walker Canyon is located in the Pajarito Wilderness area, west of Rio Rico and east of Pena Blanca Canyon. It has outstanding oak habitat supporting many of the birds expected in it: Elegant Trogon, Montezuma Quail, Thick-billed Kingbirds, etc. We’ll be walking along the drainage towards the border for a couple of miles during the morning, leaving early in order to avoid the heat. Wear good walking shoes and layered clothes, hat and sunscreen, bring binoculars, water and snacks. Limited to 10 participants. Instructions for meet-up will be emailed to registered participants before the trip. Complete Covid-19 vaccination is required as we will be carpooling to the site.
