Sabino Canyon
Registration for this trip is free. | Register Here

Trip Difficulty: Moderate. 3 mile hiking loop on both pavement and uneven, rocky trails, limited elevation gain.

We will explore the beautiful Sabino Canyon Recreation Area with a focus on finding our backyard desert birds and hopefully seeing some seasonal visitors. While the focus is on birding, we can also discuss other plant and animal encounters. This walking loop will include both Sonoran Desert upland and Sabino Creek riparian area. We should be finished by 10 am. Meet at the Ramada by the Visitor’s Center at 5700 N Sabino Canyon Road. Requires National recreation area parking fee of $8 per car or Interagency Recreational Pass. Sun protection is a must so a sunhat, water, and sensible walking shoes are highly recommended. Beginning birders welcome. Limited to 10 participants.
