Sign up on the Field Trip Page

Trip difficulty: Moderate. 12-14 miles by bicycle at a relaxed pace. Restrooms at Fort Lowell Park and Rio Vista Park Let’s do some bicycling, birding and brunching.  We’ll meet near Swan and the Rillito Path (the “Loop”), ride on the path to Fort Lowell Park for 30-45 minutes of birding, then cruise the Rillito about 5 miles to Rio Vista Natural Resources Park, watching and listening along the way for Roadrunners, Rufous-winged Sparrows and more. After looking for

desert species at Rio Vista, we’ll pedal back to the start around 10:00 a.m. and (optionally) gather for coffee and treats on an outdoor patio.  You can use any type of well-maintained bicycle, but you must be comfortable riding safely in a group. Limit 8 participants.
