The Gilbert Family Bird walks are held every third Saturday of the month, October through March at the Gilbert Riparian Preserve, on the southeast corner of Greenfield and Guadalupe Rds in Gilbert. (East of the library r) parking lot is east of the library There have been over 200 bird species seen at this water recharge facility, making this site one of the best birding spots in the east valley. This site has many rare birds. These free walks are sponsored by Desert Rivers Audubon, The Riparian Preserve of Gilbert, and Liberty Wildlife. We provide loaner binoculars, and expert leaders to take you around the ponds. We also have field guide books and other nature items for sale at our display tent. Walks leave every 15 minutes or so and last about 45 minutes. No fees or admission charge.
