This certification is a year-long, independent, online portfolio building process where participants work one-on-one with mentors to complete assignments to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities. It IS NOT a weekly facilitated course, although participants may wish to connect with other cohort members throughout the year. It is a 100 hour self-paced reviewer supported course.

Our Arizona environmental education certification course aligns with NAAEE’s Guidelines for Excellence Professional Development of Environmental Educators preparing participants to create a professional portfolio while gaining knowledge, skills, and experience toward certification. The competencies for certification are based on the NAAEE’s Guidelines for Excellence in Environmental Education and Arizona’s Framework for Environmental Concepts and Themes (AFECT). This program is recognized by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE).
Space is limited to five participants per cohort, limited by the number of reviewers. We seek to keep our participant to reviewer ratio small. Registration Deadline – 5/19/2024

COST: $305 (sliding scale available). Course fee includes a free one-year membership to AAEE, a $60 value. The course fee is non-refundable. There is a $20 application fee which is deducted from the full course fee when you enroll. The application fee is transferrable within one year if you are not selected or unable to participate in the upcoming cohort.
