Join Ranger Kevin for a roughly 2.6-mile hike along the Cottonwood Trail. We’ll discover how some of the most common desert trees are related to each other. We’ll also dig into some of the truly fabulous adaptations that allow them to thrive in a punishing desert climate. The trail is rated easy with few rocky or unstable surfaces and little elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Hats and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Bathrooms are available at the trailhead. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Trailhead, enter the park via the NORTH ENTRANCE.
Limit 20 participants. To register, please email Ranger Kevin at Kevin.Thorson@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. Please make sure you register for the 4/5/23 2pm Desert Trees hike at Lake Pleasant. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on Monday, 04/03/23.
