Join Ranger Nikki for an easy evening walk to enjoy the sunset and watch nocturnal animals become active along Merkle Trail. We may see coyotes, owls, snakes, tarantulas, scorpions and more! The route uses Merkle Trail, which is rated as barrier-free and is a wide, mostly level pathway. The Merkle loop is one mile and we will likely make a second loop to see more critters as darkness falls. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, a flashlight and a UV blacklight. Please have your annual pass or $7 exact cash for the self-pay station. Restrooms and water are available at Area 6, Merkle Trailhead north. MEETING LOCATION: Area 6, Merkle Trailhead north.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Usery Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number and number attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.  Registration for this program will close on Friday, August 11.
