Join Rangers Eric and Steve to look for and learn about the nocturnal animals on this guided hike. Wildlife we may see includes scorpions, spiders, insects, owls, nightjars, reptiles, and mammals! We will access the Butterfield Trail starting from Toothaker Trail and hike 1-2 miles roundtrip, depending on heat and participant interest. The hiking terrain is easy, but occasionally rocky or uneven. Please bring your own flashlights and blacklights if you have them, but the ranger will have a blacklight to try to look for scorpions with. Carry your own ample water and electrolytes, and wear sturdy footwear.

MEETING LOCATION: The west end of the Staging Area off of Arena Dr., parking at the Rainbow Valley Trailhead (see park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/estrella-8×114.pdf).
