Join Ranger Steve for an approximately 1-2 mile sunset/evening trail walk to look for nocturnal Sonoran Desert wildlife! Past hikes have yielded species such as owls, snakes, lizards, scorpions, coyotes, bobcats, and more! Please keep in mind that hot temperatures will persist after dark, so bring plenty of water and/or electrolyte beverages. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring a flashlight, headlamp, and/or a blacklight! Ther anger will have one to point our scorpions as well. No pets, please! Restrooms will be available at the trailhead.

MEETING LOCATION: The restrooms and parking lot of the Lousely Hill Trailhead on Lousely Dr. S., just before the Ironwood Campground. Please see park map for details (page 2 of the map shows the restrooms location on the zoomed-in inset map of the northeast part of the park): https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/mcdowell-8×11.pdf
