Join Ranger Steve for an easy-moderate after-dark trail walk on the North Pipeline Trail to search for nocturnal wildlife! There’s no predetermined distance we’ll travel; due to the heat, we will take it slow and focus on finding wildlife. A good plan would be to assume a 1–2-mile hike with the potential for less. On past hikes, we’ve seen bats, snakes, lizards, owls, ringtails, bobcats, coyotes, and other exciting animals! This hike is rated moderate due to small changes in elevation, rocky and/or uneven patches, and the summer heat. Please be mindful of the high temperatures and bring plenty of water, a salty snack, or a Gatorade (or other similar electrolyte beverage). Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. Please, no pets!

MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Day Use Area / North Pipeline Trailhead, NORTH ENTRANCE of Lake Pleasant Regional Park.

Limit 12 participants. To register, please email Ranger Steve at Stephen.Dacosta@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 6/13/23.
