Join Ranger Eric for a moderate-difficult hike while learning about the Sonoran Desert, including wildflowers and butterflies! Click on program title for more details.

Join Ranger Eric for a moderate hike up 1.8 miles (one-way) of Mesquite Canyon Trail while looking for and learning about late season wildflowers and butterflies of the Sonoran Desert. This spring is shaping up to have a good wildflower show, so there should be lots of color along the way! We will meet at the trailhead at Area 7, which has restrooms available. The hike will be 3.6 miles round trip and will involve rocky and uneven surfaces, and an occasionally steep grade. Please bring ample water and snacks and wear sturdy footwear and sun protection. MEETING LOCATION: Area 7, Mesquite Canyon Trailhead; see park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/white-tank-8×11.pdf

Limit 12 participants. To register, please call the White Tank Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 5 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call back ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Wednesday, 4/12/23.
