Join us for a fun and educational hands-on art workshop! This month we are diving into the practice of nature journaling. Nature Journals have been used by naturalists, artists, and scientists for centuries. The practice of quiet observation and artistic illustration is often tied with how western science was practiced hundreds of years ago. We’ll learn about how folks today approach these methods, get to make a nature journal to take home, and also start our first entries with some outdoor observations. Some basic art materials will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own supplies if they have a preference.

Program Details:

  • This program will happen primarily indoors at the Rio Salado Audubon Center classroom, with some outdoor components in the garden (weather permitting).
  • The Center and garden area are all handicapped accessible, flat terrain. The garden trails are crushed refined gravel.
  • Registration required, with tickets offered on a sliding scale: $5 suggested donation per person to cover the cost of materials
