Join experienced mentors to help youth hunters with locating, tracking, and field dressing deer! This is a hands-on, educational experience designed to build skills and confidence in the field.

Requirements for Hunters:

  • Hunter Education certificate

  • Deer tag for 34A, 35A, or 35B

  • Sleeping/camping gear

  • Hunting gear and firearm

What’s Provided:

  • Meals for all participants

  • Fun drawings for those in the main camp

  • Mentorship from experienced hunters

Registration: All participants must register with AZGFD.

Empire Ranch Airstrip Group Campsite (31.790403, -110.631404)
Directions from Tucson:

  1. Take I-10 east to Highway 83

  2. Head south on Highway 83 to Empire Ranch Rd, then turn east

  3. Continue to the T intersection, turn north, and follow signs to the campsite

Amenities: Pit toilets, a single water spigot, and space for tents, trailers, and RVs. No electricity available.
