Ready to take your hunting skills to the next level? Join us for a hands-on youth hunting camp where experienced mentors will guide you through locating, tracking, and field dressing javelina and deer. This is an incredible opportunity for youth hunters to gain real-world experience in a safe and supportive environment!

🌟 Camp Highlights:

  • Mentorship from experienced hunters

  • Instruction on tracking, locating, and field dressing

  • Meals provided to keep you fueled for the adventure

  • Fun raffles and drawings for participants in the main camp

  • Centralized group camping to connect with fellow youth hunters

⚠️ Requirements:

  • Must have Hunter Education certification

  • Youth Javelina Hunt Permit tag and/or OTC Archery Deer tag

  • Personal sleeping/camping gear, hunting gear, and firearm

  • All participants must register with AZGFD


πŸŽ’ What to Bring – Youth Camp Checklist

Clothing & Personal Gear:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or boots

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (layers recommended)

  • Hat & sunglasses

  • Rain jacket or windbreaker

  • Personal toiletries

Camping Gear:

  • Sleeping bag or bedding

  • Tent (if not provided)

  • Flashlight/headlamp + extra batteries

  • Camp chair (optional)

Hunting & Outdoor Essentials:

  • Hunting gear (firearm or bow as applicable)

  • Hunting license / tag (required)

  • Binoculars (optional)

  • Water bottle / hydration pack

  • Snacks (optional)

Other:

  • Personal medications or special items

  • Sunscreen & insect repellent

  • Notebook & pen (for learning and notes)

πŸš— Simplified Directions

  • Camp is located at Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge Group Campsite, approx. Milepost 4, west of Arivaca, AZ.

  • Landmark: Look for the communications tower on the south side of the Arivaca-Sasabe Highwayβ€”this is the main entrance.

  • Once at the entrance, follow event signs to the group campsite.
