Great scenic gravel ride, only 2 miles on pavement, the rest is gravel bike or hardtail MTB friendly. Road quality is generally good. Traffic is generally light.
Steep but short climb out of Jerome followed by a few miles of rolling hills and then a long descent down to the little “town” of Perkinsville. Bring your camera for the scenery along the way.
The climb back to Jerome is gradual and long, and has potential to be hot in the middle of the day, so we’re starting this ride at 8am to beat the heat. Bring plenty of water, energy bars and a “can do” positive attitude.
Park at the town of Jerome’s huge paved lot. Go straight at the fire station in Jerome, parking address is 1350 N Jerome Perkinsville, Jerome, AZ 86331, you can also get there by searching United Verde Mine in Google Maps, https://maps.app.goo.gl/7vbSStVJaQc5QDmd9.
