April 6th is Arizona Public Lands Day! Come join us and the Arizona Trail Association for a community hike in the South Mountain Preserve.
Come explore the Pima Wash Trail to West Loop in Phoenix, Arizona, and enjoy the wonderful weather, blooming wildflowers, and practice species identification through INaturalist, a free mobile app that naturalists, citizen scientists, and biologists share observations on. We do recommend you download this app before driving to the trail.
This 2.7-mile hike with an increase in elevation of ~226 ft will take us through one of the largest urban parks in North America and in the world! We look forward to hiking with you and celebrating Arizona’s over 30 million acres of public land.
We will meet under the ramada entrance to the preserve at 8 am.
Notes — South Mountain Preserve is pet-friendly. This hike is mostly stroller-friendly, but there are some short portions of rocky areas and inclines.
