It’s back! Join Rangers Kevin and Derik for a day of hiking from Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area to Cave Creek Regional Park. Trail is approximately 11 miles in length, and utilizes the Spur Cross, Maricopa, and Go John trails. Trail conditions are rated moderate to difficult, so expect a considerable amount of loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. This is not a hike for inexperienced or beginning hikers, but perfect for seasoned hikers. Please bring plenty of water (at least three liters recommended), electrolytes, snacks, and wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Proper clothing (layers), sunscreen, and hat are strongly recommended. Trekking poles may be useful. It is also a good idea to leave some extra water in your vehicle for your return. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. No pets, please.
This is a one-way through hike (not round trip), with one group leaving from Spur Cross Ranch and one group leaving from Cave Creek. IMPORTANT: It is the hiker’s responsibility to coordinate with others for a ride back to the starting point or arrange for someone to pick you up; we cannot transport people back to the starting point in our county vehicles.
