Join Ranger Eric for a guided hike to learn about the animals, plants, and ecology of the Sonoran Desert. This is generally the last time of year to find reptiles active, so we may see lizards, snakes, or even a tortoise. Migrant birds will be still passing through, including sparrow flocks starting to arrive. We will hike approximately 3.6 miles roundtrip on a loop of the Crismon Wash, Channel, Amigos Wash, and Blevins Trails on easy-moderate grade, with frequently sandy, rocky, or uneven ground. Please wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks for yourself. Restrooms are available at the Area 10 trailhead.
