Join Ranger Steve for an easy 1-mile hike on the Merkle Trail to look for nocturnal Sonoran Desert wildlife! Wildlife seen on previous hikes includes snakes, lizards, owls, coyotes, javelina, bobcats, tarantulas, scorpions, and more! Please bring plenty of water, as mid-June temperatures are going to be hot, even after dark. Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and please leave your pets at home—as they tend to scare off the wildlife. Bring a flashlight and/or a blacklight if you have one! Bathrooms are available at the trailhead.
MEETING LOCATION: Area 6, next to the restrooms at the north end of the Merkle/Vista Trails.
Limit 12 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 6/16/23.
