Join Ranger Eric for a guided bird walk to look and listen for resident and migrant species within the diverse desert riparian habitat of the Hassayampa River Preserve. Today is eBird Global Big Day, a 24-hour citizen science event dedicated to getting birders into the field across the world to count birds of all species! This is scheduled annually during the peak of spring migration, so there is the possibility to see high species diversity and rarities! Along the way, we will discuss eBird and citizen science, how to identify birds by sight and sound, and about the behavioral and ecological traits that make them unique. Some binoculars are available to borrow. Please dress in layers and carry ample water for yourself.
