The Griffin Ranch is one of five being inducted into the Arizona Farming and Ranching Hall of Fame this year !
Join APC on April 22nd at Griffin Ranch in our effort to maintain and improve land owner relations and keep open access to public lands. In 1992 the Arizona Game and Fish Department initiated a new program called Adopt-A-Ranch. The idea for this program was patterned after the Department of Transportation’s Adopt-A-Highway Program. Nearly 30 Adopt-A-Ranch projects are completed every year to help maintain access on about 2 million acres of land. This is the perfect conservation project for the entire family; bring the kids.
Directions: From Globe, drive north on US 60 (State Highway 77) about 20 miles, then turn NW onto Haystack Butte road (FR 303). The meet up spot is approximately 2.5 miles from Hwy 60. We’ll be in the Tonto National Forest, Unit 24A, at approximately 33.6187°, -110.6620°.
Please be at the meet-up spot no later than 9 AM. Tools and trash bags will be supplied by Arizona Game and Fish, and lunch & drinks will be provided by APC. We expect to be finished by mid-afternoon, so this should allow everyone to get back to Phoenix by evening.
Please RSVP to Hank Scutoski at hpski9@gmail.com. This will help us ensure we have enough tools and food. But if you forget or are not sure if you can make it, don’t let that stop you from participating. Come on out.
