Join Ranger Eric for a guided 7.5-mile difficult-rated loop hike of the Pass Mountain loop trail through Usery Mountain Regional Park and the adjacent Tonto National Forest while learning about the plants and animals of the Sonoran Desert ecosystem, with a special emphasis on late-spring wildflowers and butterflies. This spring is shaping up to have a good wildflower show in the desert due to the fall and winter rains! This is also the time of year when various reptiles emerge and birds are nesting, so we will have lots to look at! Parts of the trail will have uneven and rocky surfaces. Please wear protective clothing or sunblock, wear sturdy footwear, and carry ample water and snacks for yourself. Restrooms are available at the Trailhead Staging Area, but on the more distant stretches of the trail, you may want to bring toilet paper just in case. MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead Staging Area.
