Join Marcia OBara for a leisurely birding experience designed for nature lovers with accessibility challenges; wheelchairs, walkers, or other assistive devices are welcome. The pace is slow, distance short, and terrain even. This new location is located South of I-10 at the Kolb Rd exit, adjacent to but not in the Voyager RV Resort, on Voyager Rd. This is a public road, nearly completely flat, with ample parking. We will bird primarily from the road with a golf course pond on the north and desert scrub on the south. Expected species include Rufous-winged sparrow, Curve-billed thrasher, Cactus wren, various waterfowl and maybe even the Snow goose that overwintered last year at this eBird hotspot.
Birders of all abilities are welcome. Assistive devices, scooters, wheelchairs and walkers are welcome, as well as a companion of your choice to assist you, if needed. We also welcome anyone who just wants a more relaxed birding experience. Limited to 8 participants.
Please note, there are no bathrooms at this location, little to no shade, no drinking water, no benches, but feel free to bring your own chair. Terrain is rough asphalt. Very light traffic
