Don Pike is conducting a Field Maps training session for monitoring non native plants. This is a free app downloadable to iPhone or Android devices. Friends of the Tonto has access to the maps which requires a login and downloaded map areas before heading into the field.
We will meet at the Bush Highway Trailhead (https://goo.gl/maps/Q5pSzBJvRkPv2YR9A) at 7:30 am with a short hike to the training area. There, we’ll identify buffel and fountain grasses, stinknet, sahara mustard, and salt cedar. We can then practice adding the observations to the Field Maps database.
If you are interested in attending this training session please email Don at don@friendsofthetonto with Field Maps Training in the Subject line. I will then get you the necessary details for downloading the map areas.
