DESCRIPTION:Watch expert trainiers work with beautiful raptors such as a Red Tail Hawk\, Turkey Vulture\, Eurasian Eagle Owl\, and Aplomado Falcon.\nEvents are held indoors most days\, and outside in our patio when the weather permits.\nPlease arrive at least 15 minutes early. Doors are closed and locked at 3PM.\nTickets are available online on this web site under the Raptor Show menu.\nSeating is limited. No pets are allowed in the display space.\nRaptors may fly within the guest seating area\, so guests are encouraged to stay seated and not enter or exit without staff assistance once the exhibition has started.\nPhotography is encouraged. Long lenses and telephotos are not helpful as the birds fly within feet of the audience.

These walks are for everyone: experts\, novices\, and people who have never gone birding in their entire life. \n\nBring water\, and wear sunscreen and shoes for walking.\nGroups usually travel slowly\, over varying terrain including cement sidewalks\, gravel paths\, and dirt trails. Participants should expect to walk between 1-2 miles total.\nBinoculars and field guides are available to borrow.\nPlease meet inside the Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audubon Center at least 5–10 minutes prior to the 8 a.m. departure time.\nRestroom facilities will be available for use at the center.\nThis event is FREE\, although donations to support educational programs are always appreciated. The campus is supported by rainwater for all indoor and outdoor needs almost year-round\, and includes extensive rain gardens\, a native food forest\, a 10\,000 gallon underground cistern\, art exhibits about Tucson’s history of flowing creeks and rivers\, a kids’ play area\, composting toilets\, and so much more. You’ll be led through our demonstration site by one of our Docents to learn about our many water harvesting systems firsthand.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly birding and social event at the Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch. \nDesert Rivers launched the Birds & Brew Coffee Break to help you make new friends while learning about our wide variety of birds. \nFirst we visit Gilbert Riparian Preserve about an hour after sunrise. \nWe meet at the entrance to the preserve near the parking lot\, then a leader guides the group around the ponds where more than 200 birds have been seen over the years. About an hour later we travel to Coffee Rush at 53 N Val Vista Dr in Gilbert\, for coffee\, conversation and a short presentation . \nThis event is on the fourth Tuesday of every month. No registration necessary.

DESCRIPTION:The class is 2 hours long. \nDuring the 2 hours you will learn the following \n1.  Range Safety \n2.  Eye Dominance \n3.  Basic Archery Form-Coaches will adjust form for improvement. \n4.  Types of Target Archery Equipment \n5.  Basic Scoring \n  \nYou will learn on either a Genesis constrant draw compound bow or an Recurve Barebow. \nUpon completion\, you will receive a certificate of completion and a DSA ribbon. \nClass is $30 per family member. \nMinimum age is 8. \nClass is held at our Indoor Archery Range at Ben Avery Shooting Facility that is not open to the public as all the equipment is owned by DSA and not the state. \nAll shooters MUST wear the following \n1.  Close toed and heeled shoes (crocs are not allowed) \n2.  Shirts with shoulders and short sleeves\, no muscle shirts or crop tops \n3.  Long hair must be tied back.  Bangs that come below eye level must be bobby pinned back. \n4.  Pants must be reasonable length (mid calf)\, no short shorts. \n  \nClass dates are as the following-Class is limited to 24 archers.
