DESCRIPTION:Hone your skills in the Petrified Forest at one or both of these 4-hour rogaines* on October 17th and 18th!~ \nPre-registration: Due to participation limits inside the national park\, pre-registration and pre-payment is required. Regular registration is open until Sunday\, October 4 at 11:59 PM. Late registration ends on Tuesday\, October 13 at 11:59 PM. \nRegistration closes Tuesday night\, Oct 13 at 11:59 PM. \nAccommodations: There are a number of options for accommodations in the Holbrook area. The lodging options includes deluxe and standard motels\, RV sites\, cabins\, paid camping\, and free camping. You can click on the List of Accommodations to see the places that have used for lodging in the past. Thanks to the local Holbrook businesses have done to help with weekend of orienteering fun. \n*Rogaining is a form of long-distance cross-country orienteering where teams of two to five participants navigate using a map and compass to visit as many checkpoints as possible within a set time limit to maximize their score.  Unlike standard orienteering events where controls must be visited in a prescribed order\, rogaining allows teams to choose the order and selection of checkpoints\, adding a strategic layer to route planning and endurance management.
