DESCRIPTION:Operation High Ground \n(AZT VETS Program – Veteran Volunteer Work Weekend) \nNorth Kaibab\, AZ | Operation Freedom March (OFM) Event \nClosing out the spring/summer season\, Operation High Ground brings the VETS Program to the North Kaibab Plateau for a Veteran Volunteer Work Weekend focused on rehabilitation and restoration projects within the Dragon Bravo Fire burn scar. \nFrom June 11–14\, 2026\, this final Operation Freedom March event invites veterans\, families\, and supporters to serve together while improving high-elevation sections of the Arizona National Scenic Trail on the North Kaibab Ranger District near the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. \n📅 Event Schedule \nThursday – Sunday\, June 11-14 \n\nCamp-based volunteer weekend\nDaily trail maintenance and improvement\nCommunity meals and closing circle\n\n⛏️ Details \n\nMeals: Most meals provided at no cost\nRegistration: Pre-registration required; limited capacity\nWho’s Invited: Veterans\, military families\, and supporters (OFM)\nTrail Work: Moderate to strenuous physical labor; all experience levels welcome—training provided\n\n\n\n⚠️ Health & Safety \nThe ATA will continue to follow health protocols as recommended by public health officials. DESCRIPTION:Yavapai Trails Association has worked with Prescott National Forest to set up each 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month as a trail workday. \nAt our work events you may enjoy routine brushing or trail building\, and occasionally we’ll spend a Saturday doing something a bit more adventurous. We may hike out further or do a slightly different type of work. Emails will go out prior to each work event with all the details. Please read them carefully to decide which work events are a good fit for you. \nYou may sign up to receive work event emails by sending an email to: yta.benefit@gmail.com and requesting to be added to our email list for volunteer workers. You do not need to be a member to join us for work events\, although we would appreciate it. Keep your eyes on our website and those emails! There may be opportunities for work every Saturday. \nThank you and Happy Trails! \nLook for an email just before each scheduled workday to remind you to RSVP and announce the location.
