SUMMARY:Birding Hike at New River Nature Reserve
DESCRIPTION:Come with us as we explore the streamside habitat of New River Nature Reserve. This preserve is home to a lush riparian habitat that contains many tree species unique to the desert including cottonwoods\, sycamore\, walnuts\, and more! We’ll look for the many bird species that call this place home. \nThis hike is approximately 1 mile in length\, with no elevation gain\, but does require two water crossings and some uneven terrain. Please bring binoculars if you have them. Due to the very limited parking at the preserve\, we will meet at the parking lot of the gas station off New River Road and carpool to the preserve.

The walks are 1.5 to 2 miles long over easy terrain. These are slower paced than a hike and suitable for most adults and children. The San Pedro House is located 7 miles east of Sierra Vista on Highway 90\, on the south side of the highway. It is searchable in Google Maps.
