DESCRIPTION:Yavapai Trails Association has worked with Prescott National Forest to set up each 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month as a trail workday. \nAt our work events you may enjoy routine brushing or trail building\, and occasionally we’ll spend a Saturday doing something a bit more adventurous. We may hike out further or do a slightly different type of work. Emails will go out prior to each work event with all the details. Please read them carefully to decide which work events are a good fit for you. \nYou may sign up to receive work event emails by sending an email to: yta.benefit@gmail.com and requesting to be added to our email list for volunteer workers. You do not need to be a member to join us for work events\, although we would appreciate it. Keep your eyes on our website and those emails! There may be opportunities for work every Saturday. \nThank you and Happy Trails! \nLook for an email just before each scheduled workday to remind you to RSVP and announce the location. Thank you for all your volunteer hours. \n*If you have them\, please bring your own hard hat/bike helmet\, gloves\, and eye protection. If you don’t have them\, we are able to provide those items. SUMMARY:Watershed Mngmt Group Living Lab Tour
DESCRIPTION:WMG’s Living Lab is our demonstration site of hydro-local living and watershed resilience\, as well as our office space. The campus is supported by rainwater for all indoor and outdoor needs almost year-round\, and includes extensive rain gardens\, a native food forest\, a 10\,000 gallon underground cistern\, art exhibits about Tucson’s history of flowing creeks and rivers\, a kids’ play area\, composting toilets\, and so much more. You’ll be led through our demonstration site by one of our Docents to learn about our many water harvesting systems firsthand.

SUMMARY:History Walk to Millville and Petroglyph Discovery Trail
DESCRIPTION:Meeta Friends’ docent for a tour of Millville\, site of two historic silver mills\,and an adjacent Native American petroglyph site. The tour will focus on thehistory of mining and milling in the area during the Tombstone silver boom.This is about a 2 mile walk on an uneven dirt and gravel trail that crossesthrough a deep wash. Please realistically assess your ability to do this walk. Thewalk is free; reservations are not required. Participants must sign a liabilitywaiver before the walk starts. Meet at the Millville and Petroglyph DiscoveryTrail parking area. This trailhead is located 7.5 miles east of Sierra Vista onCharleston Road. This is not the parking area right by the river. Look for the“Fire Danger Level” sign on the north side of Charleston Rd. at the entrance tothe parking lot\, about 0.5 mile east of the river. Meet by the vault toilet.This location is searchable as “Millville and Petroglyph Discovery Trail” inGoogle Maps.
