DESCRIPTION:Watch expert trainiers work with beautiful raptors such as a Red Tail Hawk\, Turkey Vulture\, Eurasian Eagle Owl\, and Aplomado Falcon.\nEvents are held indoors most days\, and outside in our patio when the weather permits.\nPlease arrive at least 15 minutes early. Doors are closed and locked at 3PM.\nTickets are available online on this web site under the Raptor Show menu.\nSeating is limited. No pets are allowed in the display space.\nRaptors may fly within the guest seating area\, so guests are encouraged to stay seated and not enter or exit without staff assistance once the exhibition has started.\nPhotography is encouraged. Long lenses and telephotos are not helpful as the birds fly within feet of the audience.

DESCRIPTION:Delve into the cryptic kingdom of mushrooms and fungi with Mike Dechter of the Arizona Mushroom Society. This indoor presentation will be for those with incidental knowledge and curiosity about fungi. Mike explains what fungi are and why they are important. He will also discuss basic mushroom anatomy and identification of wild mushrooms. For the last part of the presentation\, Mike will focus on the Arizona Fab Four Fungi: four easy-to-identify\, edible wild mushrooms that grow here in Northern Arizona. \nThis workshop is offered free of charge thanks to the support of the City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office.  \nRegistration is required to help us manage space. DESCRIPTION:Please join the ATA August 1 on Passage 11E\, in the Santa Catalina Mountains Region near Tucson\, for a trail work event. Work on the final year of the Butterfly Trail Metamorphosis. The project area is 2+ miles from the trailhead\, so anticipate hiking between 5 and 6 miles for the day with tools. This project is rated moderate – accessible to first time volunteers\, although the hike in may be strenuous. \nThe project will focus on brushing [removing vegetation from the trail corridor to keep the trail open to users] and treadwork [repairing or improving the trail surface]. Bring sun protection (sunscreen\, sunglasses\, headcovering\, etc.)\, 2L of drinking water/electrolytes\, and your own snacks. Lunch will be provided. \nCatalina Highway is passenger-car accessible.
